Yes or No: Oil Pulling
Here’s an ancient remedy comeback- oil pulling. It involves slowly swishing about a tablespoon of oil around your mouth for about 15 minutes. It’s said to brighten your smile, rid your body of toxins and cure an assortment of ailments from clogged sinuses to digestive issues. But is this Ayurvedic practice all it’s cracked up to be? Studies did find it may be effective for reducing bad breath and helping remove plaque on teeth. Unfortunately, most of the other purported benefits haven’t been researched, so the jury’s still out. The most commonly used oils for pulling are coconut and sesame.
