Kill weeds without chemicals

Bypass the bottles of synthetics and look to your kitchen cupboard to make an eco- (and kid- and pet-) friendly liquid pruner.
In a saucepan, boil ½ cup lemon juice, 1 quart household vinegar and 1 tablespoon salt together slowly until reduced by one-third. Allow the mixture to cool and pour into a spray bottle. To use, coat all of the leaf surfaces with a fine mist, taking care to avoid spraying on any desirable plants. Avoid skin and eye contact.
