Sodium for better hydration?

Prec

According to Karen Asp’s article Up Your Hydration Game in the July 2015 issue of Eating Well magazine male cyclists who consumed 1,400 mg of sodium from chicken soup just prior to exercise were found to have retained more water during their ride than cyclists who hydrated by water alone. The study conducted by the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism suggested that the increase in sodium encouraged the athletes to consume more water and in turn retain that fluid better than those who hydrated with only water.
